One of my favorite street food here in the Philippines is Chicharon Bituka, also known as pork craklings. It is basically pig’s intestine (both large and small) fried to perfection, served with some salt and vinegar.  Its been awhile since I had chicharon for merienda (snack) and it made me drool a bit in front of Guby’s Chicharon stall when my sister and I went to Metro Market! Market! yesterday for shopping.

I know for some, eating such kind of food is disgusting but chicharon is so delicious and there is no way to turn my back from it. :)

There are different kinds of Chicharon and we Filipinos have various ways to prepare it.  Some,  incorporate this guilty pleasure to other type of Filipino dish while others use it as a “topping” to  Pancit (palabok, malabon, luglog) ~ sauted noodles and veggies.

Since chicharon is not a “healthy” kind of food (I should say), I make sure not to eat it so often. I had fresh green Salad before that so, I think it was enough reason to munch some of that yummy treat . LOL.
