Empanada is one of those yummy deliciously filled-bread that I could not resist. It is a simple snack that  everyone will surely like.  Its crusty outside and flavorful filling makes me want to ask for more. Here in the Philippines we have various ways to prepare it, depending on what province you belong to. City of Ilocos are one of those provinces in the North who are known in making delectable empadas. Vigan empanada is a more popular one, something that I can’t wait to have again for so long.

But my favorite so far is the one that can be found almost everywhere. Yeah, I mean the one which can be bought on leading super markets and malls nationwide.

Empanada Royale is one of the store where I get my favorite baked empanada. They offer variety of flavors such as chicken (ala king, spicy, teriyaki), pork, beef, tuna, bacon and the one that I like best is Ham and Cheese.

Regular Empanada costs Php 28.00 and Php 14.00 for mini empanada.

As I promised, I will be posting feedback from Globe Tattoo’s customer service with regards to Unli-Surf registration which is becoming more popular now-a-days especially to Globe prepaid subscribers. I had difficulties in registering to SUPERSURF50 8888 and from time to time I am getting the “try again later” message from Globe Tattoo, like what I’ve mentioned on my previous posts.

Few weeks ago I got a message from Globe Tattoo’s rep stating that the availability of the said promo will run from April 14, 2010 to July 31, 2010. I think every supersurf users are wanting for it to be extended.

And so…. SUPERSURF is back on track again and hopefully this time it is better than ever. I must admit that there were few problem when it was still on its beta phase one of which is, having some hard time in registering  to 8888. How weird was that? Some, also experienced slow internet surfing that you can’t even download a single movie/torrent file.

As of today, I like SuperSurf but I must admit that there are days that I find it super slow.

But what is good about Globe Tattoo Pre-paid is that they are willing to help and guide you when you are having some difficulties with the product.

Below is some information that I received from them to improve my internet connection;

“We wish to advise that you switch the network connection from WCDMA Preferred to WCDMA only.

If you see either WCDMA or HSDPA signal when you insert the Globe Tattoo Broadband stick in order to acquire best result when browsing.

If you are having intermittent 3g signal (signal drops from time to time),

Kindly shift back to WCDMA Preferred setting in order to get a signal for browsing.

It has been four months since the first promo of SuperSurf. So what do you think of Globe Tattoo’s SuperSurf today?

Today  is the celebration of Philippine Independence. It was declared last 12th of June 1898 in Cavite, which is also known as “Home of the Brave”.  It has been 112 years of having our freedom and things has dramatically changed from where we were before so as with our technology.

The Event: Cyberzone Summer Festival

Since it was the last leg of the event, I made sure to bring my family with me and share the experience with them on this awesome day.

As soon as I got in the venue, I went to the registration area and registered my name as a blogger. I was even more surprised that my sister and niece can register too and enjoy the fun activities in different booths.

The event was comprised of 6 activities namely Gaming Station, Photo Booth, Booth of Luck, Music Mayhem Booth, Upload Express and Science Discovery Center.

I was eager to try-out any game at the Gaming Station and was ecstatic to see “Band Hero”. At first, I thought it was “Rock Band” by Harmonix Music Systems, so while waiting for my turn to play I asked Mark (who was assisting the Gaming Station Booth) what the game was and learned it was a Band Hero which I later found out a part of Guitar Hero series by Neversoft. Coolness!

(I just don’t want to stop playing the guitar. )

I had fun with the drums as well, I wished I could take this whole drum set at home and practice some more. LOL!

Another fun game to play on the booth was Wii Sports by Nintendo, it was obviously a favorite in Gaming Station and I, myself was so excited to try it out as well.

I have noticed the stunning clear view of the said games on LCD screens present on the event, it does give more enjoyment in playing these console games. Samsung LCD HDTV Series 6 was able to hold the graphic of both games perfectly, it is indeed a stunner! It has superb picture and sound quality in a very sleek design. What to expect from the makers of great electronic gadgets? Only greatness I suppose.

After that, we headed to the Photo Booth.

We had so much fun at Samsung 2 View and strutting some poses are the easiest and coolest thing to do. We picked some accessories found in the booth where I chose a cowboy hat while sister and niece went for cute headbands.

I met Lei who was the photographer on Samsung 2 View and have noticed her camera in taking pictures and found out she was using Samsung WP10 underwater camera. I was really excited to see this camera and know its specs and capabilities. I just love its color (marine-blue) and design and the functionality it has is just amazing. (see below)

Samsung Wp10 is a 12.2 megapixel camera that offers 720p HD video and 5 times optical zoom. Along with other cameras presented in the event is Samsung’s Dual LCD Camera. I just can’t take my eyes off in this thing of beauty that has 1.5 front mini LCD which is great for those who want to take pictures of themselves, like me! It is the easiest way to self-portrait. It is a 12.2 megapixel camera that has 4.6x optical zoom and 720p quality video recording. I just love it and I hope to buy it really soon.

After that we headed to the Uploading Express.

As I expected another great electronic gadgets were presented before me and again, I was delighted and eager to learn more about it. After our photos were taken by Lei it was downloaded or transfered to  MSi EX401x  (T66+) notebook where it was re-touched and edited by Adobe Photoshop editor. The notebook was really nice, it has 14″ WXGA display in color black and an intel core 2 duo processor. It has 4GB DDR2 memory card reader and 4x USB port.

Then after the editing was done it was printed out in a very sleek EPSON printer. Picture Mate PM 235 (below, upper right and center) is another great invention from EPSON. I was amazed with its portability and photo enhancement feature. You see that square thing? You can actually carry that thing with one hand! It has a handle where you can actually bring it anywhere. Aside from being able to customize different photo sizes it has 2.5 LCD screen. You can easily insert a memory card, select photo and print pictures in an instant.

Another printer that caught my eyes was EPSON’s PictureMate PM 310 (below, lower left). Imagine to have a photo slide show in HD ~ not on your pc or laptop, not even on your ipod but in your printer! It is so brilliant! It has a 7-inch HD LCD and a stylish remote control. You can easily get your 4R photo as fast as 37 seconds. I am dying to have one of these.

Next stop was Science Discovery Center. My sister and I were glad to bring Kayla (my niece) with us. Private Iris was there and an activity for kids was held.

I was a bit curious what is Private Iris, good thing Ms. Jackielyn Noveda (Account Specialist of Blue Cow) was there to explain to us what is it all about.

Private Iris is a local comic series for kids of all ages. At first, I thought it was just for kiddos but as I run into the pages of the comic book, I found fascination on how the character Iris was created and there was so much interesting facts about her character that even I want to learn more about it.

It was written by Jamie Bautista and art was done by Arnold Arre. These two will surely bring mystery and science at its best to readers. The book has 10 Case Files where you can follow Iris and help her solve more scientific mysteries. What can I say? I am now a fan.

My niece, sister and I had so much fun in the booth. Kyla enjoyed our coloring session that she doesn’t want to leave the place anymore. LOL. She cried when we were about to leave the booth so my sister decided to spend more time with Kyla in Private Iris Workshop while I hang around on other booths.

Then, I checked out the Music Mayhem where a cool DJ played for us. I was like starring at him on how he maneuvered and mix music. It was so cool! His music lighten up the place and brought great ambiance to spectators, it does matches the whole area.

I also had the chance to see other I.T. products in the event. Torque mobile phone was there and I had the opportunity to see their latest products one by one.

What I know about Torque (mobile phones) is its Dual SIM capability. One of the phone that caught my attention was Torque DQ500 (below, left) which has upto 2GB expandable memory and full QWERTY keyboard. I was looking for a dual-sim phone myself and I think it was a perfect phone to have.

I also had a glance of other laptop/notebook from Msi. Kids (below) can’t get enough of these notebooks and for sure they want to play their favorite e-games with it. I just love this MSi-U123 HW below.

Lastly, we headed our way to Booth of Luck where a number of people claimed their prizes. Among the freebies are shirt, umbrella, pad, pens and a lot more. My sister got a PLDT myDSL pad while I got a bag of freebies from them which includes myDSL shirt and baseball cap, pen, pads, cd games and posters. Lovely!

SM Cyberzone Summer Festival was a great event filled with fun, excitement and tech information. Not only they were popular for hosting cosplay and gaming events they were also known for introducing the latest and the best I.T. products in the Philippines.
